Prairie Public over-the-air KCND radio broadcasts in the Bismarck area will be interrupted by outages beginning soon and ending within a couple weeks, dependent on weather and tower crew progress.
Prairie Public’s expanded listening options are not impacted by the outage, so the broadcast will be available to stream on smartphones, smart speakers, tablets, laptops and desktop computers.
The tower work involves replacing an antenna that was damaged by ice in April. Prairie Public’s signal has been operating at low power since then, and the new antenna will allow the network to resume broadcasts at high power.
