Cook & Create Kits
Prairie Public Education Services has partnered with libraries across northwestern Minnesota to offer free Cook & Create Kits for families.

Explore the history of the Minnesota prairie and the ways it has been shaped by both Indigenous communities who live in relationship with the land and by European settlers whose expansion has transformed the landscape to fit their needs.
Learn about bison ranching through the eyes on Dale Rengstorf, owner of Rolling R Ranch. Rengstorf discusses the historical roots of bison in his home of Otter Tail County, Minnesota, and explains how raising this native animal compares to the non-natives he has raised in the past. Students explore how place impacts land use, and how sustainability might combine with successful ranching.
Learn how cultural traditions and relationships with the land shape the way communities use natural resources while caring for their environment.
